SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE
We are trying during last two decades to minimize
the
abuse of chemical fertilizer and pesticides. To
serve the purpose we started to organize "KRISHI
PARAMARSO KENDRA"
At Jharubati In association with kalna subdivisional agriculture office. During last
six years we have implemented
modern technologies
of sustainable agriculture in that center.
1)Integrated Pest Management. Workshops and training
was
arranged for several times. Experts demonstrated the method in the field. It results to minimize the use of insecticides
in AMAN and BORO season of paddy culture.
2)SCINTIFIC USE OF FERTILISER- Workshops was arranged to
transfer the
technology of quick composting, Preparing green maniure. Ready reckoner recommending scientifis dose of using chemical fertilizer
was supplied to the farmers.
3)KRISHI O BIGYAN MELA- That fair was inaugurated on 21st
February, 2002 and continued
for three days. Several companies displayed their stalls with recent development of agricultureal technologies such as Bio-pesticides,
Bio-Fertilizer, Biological
control agents, seeds medicinal plants etc.
Severals government depart.s such as agriculture
department. Hoticulture dept. CADC etc also participated in the fair.
SOILTESTING WITH PORTEBLE KITS - We organized
workshops
on use and prepare of soil testing kit in association with sub-divisional agriculture office and Krisak Sabha.
Experts from central soil testing laboratory, Burdwan trained 26 youth on that subjects.
